The Synthesis Community

At first glance, you may think Synthesis is yet another after-school program. I’m here to lay out the behind-the-scenes of what makes Synthesis special. While you are probably familiar with our origins (if not, read our story here), I’m sure you have questions. I’ll do my best to answer most of them as you get acquainted with our community.

Over a series of blog posts, I will walk you through the Synthesis experience and what to expect.

The Synthesis Community

While we are young, we have big ambitions. We are building the premier online community where kids go to become better problem solvers.

We are not simply a class nor a game. We are a learning community. When your child joins Synthesis, they join a global ecosystem of builders that will experience a different kind of learning from the best facilitators and adult mentors in the world.

Your child will be at the center of everything we are building at Synthesis. We say we are training them to become good, ethical decision-makers, and we mean it. We will continue to build Synthesis based on what we learn from your child and their peers, and kids will be active contributors to the experiences we create.

We promise that your child will be challenged and that we will push them to think above their pay grade. At Synthesis, students are the executives, the judges, the leaders. We are preparing them for real life, and as such, we will put kids in the driver’s seat and ask them to take sides on conundrums that have real-life meaning—all within a safe environment that will feel like a lot of fun.

Next Steps
Over the following blog posts, I’m going to walk you through:

  1. What makes Synthesis unique

  2. The Synthesis Experience

  3. Your child’s progression at Synthesis

Once accepted, your child will join a cohort to start playing Constellation, one of Synthesis’ first simulations. Then, they will move on to Art For All , followed by Fish. This is only the beginning. Think of where your child is today, and ask yourself over time whether your child is improving in the way they reason through problems or how they synthesize concepts. You as a parent are also part of our Synthesis community, and we are counting on you for thoughtful feedback that will allow us to build better.

Thank you for your interest in Synthesis. We look forward to building the best educational experiences of the future alongside you.
